Me, myself and I

Tags: ,

How many of you stop, take a break and watch the sun glisten or the river flow?

Do you do yoga, go for walks with an iPod? Are you spending time with yourself? I’m noticing more and more in this rat race that not many do. Is that even living? I think not.

I’m on a five day trip up Sydney’s Central Coast to teach myself to stop and relax; to lay on the beach in vintage aviators and read Hemingway with absolutely no deadlines at all. I promised myself there’d be no writing or work and I’d rest my brain to save myself from burning out. But that never happens. My head is ticking and I’m writing away as per usual. I think I’m a workaholic.

Being on the ball all the time isn’t cool and busy is no excuse. So take time out to reflect and enjoy yourself. There are people called friends and family in your life who are way more important than working excessively. Are you moving at all when everything around you is flying past with speeding colours?

All snaps are mine, except for the ‘hill heart’ I found online somewhere.

One Response to Me, myself and I

  1. ro says:

I try to start my day by walking for about 40-45 mins. If I miss this walk I know it by feeling cross, edgy and even depressed. I can think out my problems while I walk and see the same people doing the same as me day after day. They are all very positive about their ‘daily walk’.. and very friendly. Everyone says ‘good morning’ and smiles.
Me, Myself and I is right on Mishy. I hope more people read this fantastic blog. It makes so much sense. We all need ‘time out’ for ourselves.
