Dream, love, inspire.

I had the utmost privilege to travel with a bunch of uber-talented media inclined peeps while in South Africa.

All I can say is that it was a breath of fresh air to be around likeminded people who share my creative goals; whether it be journalism, blogging, photography or filmmaking.

I definitely recommend you check out their online content and drop a hello. Just don’t stalk them too much, though. That wouldn’t be cool and it’s something your ISP frowns upon.

Fran – Francisco Granados edits a Venezuelan mens magazine and is both a stylish and passionate writer. He also blogs on Hablando en Stereo®. Although I get lost in translation when reading or watching his Español entries, the warmth exuded from his writing and video journals always bring a smile to my face. Most importantly, he owns the sexiest glasses in the world and let me wear them several times! You are too kind and too cool x.

Johnny – The very prominent Mr Tiernan is Editor in Chief of Ireland’s AU Magazine and does a superb job! I must say it poops all over the Australian Rolling Stone edition. I love a mag that covers both indie and mainstream music, but most importantly and does it well. AU features a clean layout, delves into lifestyle and pop culture content and also has some hilarious, honest rants for your amusement. Johnny is nuttier than I am :)

Stu – London-based MyChemicalToilet blogger Stuart Waterman blends maturity, humour and colour in his writing which is something I appreciate as a journalist. He’ll tell it like it is and keep you up to date with everything music; as well as pop culture in the UK and global sphere. He is also a proud metrosexual and my person of choice to share clear, male-approved paw paw lip balm with when it’s not available. Love you Stu! Disclaimer: I am referring to the sharing and application of lip gloss. Nothing more.

Niall – If you live and breathe music, you will absolutely adore this Irish guy. Nialler9 boasts an extensive knowledge of the music world and can give you the answers. He’ll tell you what’s hot and what’s not. Like any music reviewer however, it all comes down to taste. Still, this guy is worth a read and you will discover new gems.

Peej – Nintendo-obsessed video blogger/animator/filmmaker PJ is a lovely, talented Brit making waves on his YouTube with over 30,000 followers. I really dig his technical skill, as well as his creative eye. He seamlessly combines soundscapes with vivid scenes and illustrations; and his honest concepts are anything but garden variety. I’m inspired to do more Final Cut work because of him. Sorry girls, he doesn’t accept marriage proposals.

Bobby - Robert Townsend is the man behind Bobbysix. I find it a real joy to read a British-expat’s fresh view on Sydney’s social and music scene because I know it’s void of any bias. Bobby is also down with vintage clothing and runs his own store at our iconic Glebe Markets, which means he just earnt more brownie points right there for his love of recycled clothing alone.

Nick – Don’t ask me how he does it, but Australian electronic music producer Nick (AKA: Pogo) totally recreates new music tracks by sequencing small soundclips from mainstream films, scenes and his own recordings. So far he’s treated his ginormous 50,000 + YouTube viewers – and the world – to several Disney/Pixar and Terminator 2: Judgement Day appropriations. What an ear!

Darragh – Darragh Doyle is such a funny, kind little soul hailing from Ireland and when he describes his occupation as working online,  it’s literal! From writing pure, entertaining and informative pieces on his This is what I Do site to actively Twittering away, you’re bound to catch this internet enthusiast’s two cents online somewhere. Anybody can write, but not everyone can be a journalist/reporter and I truly admire Darragh’s ethics upheld in all communication.

Sarah – The only other female in our media bunch was Britain’s Sarah Fakray who writes for Dazed Digital. Just like it’s print form (Dazed & Confused), the site proves to be pretty rad while exploring the latest in music, fashion, opinion, film, photography and the arts.

Dream, Love, Inspire – what an ideal title for bringing this group of talented, multi-national young guns together.
Kudos to Smirnoff for their ‘bethere’ experiences.
